Recommended practices

Teens should be routinely verified to recognize hazards and to use safe work practices. For this, they must be in constant supervision.

When interviewing a teenager to work, the employer must keep some proof of the minor’s age and social security number, to determine the number of hours and the regulations allowed according to each age.

In some states in the United States, a work permit is not required for minor citizens. In Florida it is not a mandatory requirement.

But if the minor has just emigrated to the United States, they must process a corresponding work permit to be able to work in the United States legally. To obtain it, you can contact our Vargas Law Group office to guide you through the process of obtaining a work permit.
